    Watermelon Matcha

this watermelon matcha is perfect for hot summer afternoons, when you need a caffeine nudge and plenty of fruity refreshment.

we were spoiled at work last year, and got summer fridays for 3 ½ months. we were blissfully off at 2pm every friday from memorial day until labor day, free to soak up extra summer rays, check out new matcha cafes and be our best selves. well, we're not getting that this year, and we're all a little sad about it.

so if you and your co-workers (or you and whatever company, or just you) are struggling with afternoon friday moping/idleness, surprise them/yourself with watermelon matcha! i'm betting your office doesn't stock watermelon or matcha (mine doesn't at least), but once you bring those in, you can use the hot water and ice at work. blend up the watermelon (you could just crush it really well with the back of a fork), dissolve the matcha in hot water, layer the two with ice, and voila! no need to spend $6+ on milk tea, or braving a long, hot wait.

the bitter matcha gets tempered by the sweet watermelon, and chilled down, it's the perfect thing to sip at your desk during a slow afternoon dreaming you brought midori matcha's (definitely recommend their hojicha granita if you're a milkshake mood) version to the beach instead.

This strawberry citrus margarita float is delicious as is, but if you add some ground freeze dried strawberries to the rimming salt, you get another hit of fruity pink flavor! #strawberry #citrus #margarita #tequila

You really can't go wrong with matcha. Adding watermelon in there is a whole different ball game! Oh man, milk tea can get pricey really quick. I've noticed that with some premium tea shops lately.
